Meetings held monthly.
When: The 2nd Monday of the month, excluding July and August. Additional dates may be added for carving seminars and other activities.
Who: Guests are always welcome. Attendees at our meetings range in age from elementary schoolers to senior citizens.
Where: The 40 & 8 Club (across the street from Gleason Works), 933A University Avenue, Rochester, New York.
General Meeting Format
6:00 PM: Doors open – socializing
6:30 – 7:00 PM: Informal coaching or critiquing, browsing the library, welcoming new members and guests, and announcements.
7:00 – 8:30 PM: Open carving time and/or demos.
8:30 PM: Room cleanup

Meeting Cancellations
1. Members with email addresses on file will be notified the day of cancellation via email.
2. Notification of the cancellation will be posted on this website.
3. Members with no email or computer access should ask a fellow member who is “online.”
Youth Attendance Policy
Genesee Valley Woodcarvers Club (GVWC) policy regarding youth under the age of 18 attending meetings:
1. Children aged 12 or under must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or relative. This accompanying person must be 21 or older and remain with the child for the entire meeting.
2. Youth aged 13 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The youth’s parent or guardian must consent to the youth attending a GVWC meeting accompanied by the named adult. The named adult must remain with the child for the entire meeting. In the event of injury, if neither the parent or guardian is present, they will not hold the club or the adult accompanying the child responsible.
