Entry Fees for Competitors: Genesee Valley Woodcarvers members: $5 / first 3 entries; $1 for each entry thereafter. Non-members: $15 surcharge plus $5 / entry. Youth: No charge.

Competition Divisions -
Bird: Waterfowl, seabirds & shorebirds, song birds, birds of prey & upland game birds, all other birds, miniatures, smoothies –antique and realistic, and interpretive bird sculptures
General: Human figures, caricatures- human & animal, animals, marine life, carousel figures, relief carving, chip carving, miniatures, and miscellaneous
Working Decoys: Single class and category
Bench: Bird & general pieces produced in a class setting by “open” carvers
Youth: Single Class and Category
Special: Champagne Glass and President's Award - Magic in Wood.
Competition Class Levels (Bird and General Divisions)
Beginner: Carvers new to competition or those who are still progressing towards the Advanced level.
Advanced: Open to all carvers but must be entered by anyone winning Best-in-Show in any prior GVW competition. Begineer/Intermediate carvers are encouraged to move up to the Advanced class after winning blue ribbons but are not required to do so.
All other divisions will be judged as a single class.
Judging Criteria: Craftsmanship, Accuracy, Essence, and Artistry
